Worthy of Worship

Worthy of worship is Jesus my Lord
Who whilst I was the wandering sheep,
Wooed me away from this withering world
Which writhes in darkness deep.

Wept I when he showed me my rebellion deep red
Wither I had disobeyed and from his way fled
Woke I to see that he is the life giving bread
When wiped he my tears and to grace I was led

Wages of my transgressions were paid
When wrath of the father on him was laid
“Walk away no more, child of mine” he said,
“Willingly on that wooden cross I bled”

Waves of mercy fell from over high
Washing me white that day;
Words of truth dispelled every lie,
While my sins at his feet I lay

Winter to spring quick did turn
When he welcomed me in my weakness
Wait now I shall for my king’s return
Whose might was revealed through his meekness.
